Sweeping Up Joy is a place to find humor and beauty in the little moments of life. Even the sticky ones. Especially the sticky ones.

Lovely Little LivesI am a Midwestern wife and mother trying to keep a balance between crazy and calm in a house of toddlers and hectic schedules. Some of my favorite pleasures are morning coffee, evening hard cider, themed parties, Nebraska sports, date nights, horse back rides, scrap booking and all things organized. Being a stay at home mom who also does medical billing from home has it’s challenges and it’s joys, but I thought it might be fun to add blogging to my already long to-do-list so here I am! My hope is to further discover the beauty in the miniature human beings God has given me as well as to explore the simple pleasures of life. To Him be the Glory!

A Blog for My Mom: I’m Rosie! Catholic mom of five kids. Halfway crunchy, halfheartedly stylish, homeschoolish, homebodyish. Who exactly are we? Well, in a nutshell… Crazy. Five kids in a 19th century farmhouse in Virginia, toddler twins, homeschooling, homesteading… This blog is a whole lot of everything and nothing all at the same time, and I’m so excited that you’re here to share that with us!

Thoughts from the Pew in the Back: I’m a regular girl living a regular life. After a somewhat brief career teaching high school English, I am (finally!) a stay-at-home mom to two kids, thanks to my hard-working, supportive husband. I am immensely fascinated at how I see God in the everyday circumstances of my family life – from the sad to the happy – and I really want to share that with other people – which I do, here, from my humble pew in the (way, way) back.
